Salary Range:            $42,336 - $53,111 plus full benefit package

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Housing Coordinator II is primarily responsible for providing exceptional customer services to diverse populations and stakeholders in the administration HUD’s Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher (HCV), Public Housing, Project Based Voucher (PBV), Rural Development, Low Income Housing Tax Credit, Affordable Housing and other rental assistance programs. As the chief resource for program applicants, participants and landlords, participating in housing authority programs, the Housing Coordinator II is an ambassador to navigating housing programs and assisting our clients in obtaining and maintaining housing opportunities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excellent customer service; must have a courteous, compassionate, and tactful manner.
  • Ability to acquire a clear understanding of  BWCHA’s programs,  policies, procedures and terminology.
  • Ability to interpret and apply federal, state and local housing regulations, and principles of supervision and training.
  • Ability to develop and implement methods to monitor and track work unit priorities.
  • Communicates effectively and cooperatively with diverse populations and demographics, as well as persons with limited written and verbal English skills.
  • Maintains a courteous, compassionate, and tactful demeanor with clients and coworkers.
  • Understands and protects client confidentiality.
  • Contributes to a positive, productive and collaborative team environment.
  • Balances workload and priorities effectively with frequent interruptions.
  • Knowledge of basic English composition, spelling, punctuation and mathematics.
  • Maintains dependable, punctual attendance.
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. required.
  • Two years experience in housing or social service related field and/or a combination of education and experience which provides the applicant with the requisite skills.
  • Valid Washington State Driver's License (within 30 days of employment) and an acceptable driving record (according to BHA standards).
