JOB TITLE:                  Maintenance Manager SALARY, EXEMPT  NON-REPRESENTED

REPORTS TO:             Director of Housing Programs & Director of Asset Development

SALARY:                      $63,360 - $80,868


POSITION OVERVIEW:

Manages Authority’s maintenance and fleet management programs, and long-range maintenance plans.  Oversees maintenance of Authority’s facilities, grounds, systems, and equipment.  Coordinates and manages facilities’ safety and security systems.  Supervises Maintenance, Grounds and Custodial staff.  

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

Performs special projects as may be assigned by the Director of Housing Programs or the Director of Asset Development. 

Education and Experience

  • Education:  BA degree in engineering, construction management, architecture, or related field, or advanced training and certification in at least two vocational trades such as carpentry, electrical, plumbing or HVAC.
  • Experience:  A minimum of five years as a supervisor is essential.  Five years as a journey trades person with experience as a licensed contractor is desirable.  Minimum of two years construction management, budget preparation and quality control inspection experience.  Knowledge of blueprints and architectural principles is required.
  • As determined by the Authority, any combination of experience and education that could typically qualify a candidate for this position, such as four years of increasingly responsible demonstrated experience in facilities planning and maintenance management involving supervision of widely dispersed staff, and involving contractors, and local, state and federal agencies. 
  • Work experience involving property management, public housing, public administration, human resources, safety management, and implementation of federal state and local laws, regulations, codes, and related directives is desirable.

 Licenses or Certificates

  • Public Housing Maintenance Manager Certification
  • CGO/CIAP and UPCS certification
  • Valid Washington State Driver's License (within 30 days of employment) and an acceptable driving record (according to BHA standards)

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Physical - Ability to drive to sites; lift construction materials; and climb, crawl, stoop, and negotiate tight or awkward spaces for purposes of troubleshooting and inspection.  Willingness to work in dirty conditions in a variety of construction and maintenance environments.
