Receptionist

POSITION:                RECEPTIONIST, NON-EXEMPT/SALARY

CLOSING DATE:      OPEN UNTIL FILLED                                                             

SALARY RANGE:    $16.07 - $20.16/plus benefits

 This position is part-time, 20 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 9AM-1PM.

 

JOB SUMMARY: This position provides primary receptionist duties and administrative support contributing to the overall effectiveness of the Authorities.  Works cooperatively with and supports the efforts of the Housing Programs Department staff. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 

  1. Works effectively and cooperatively with a wide range of people, using courtesy, compassion and tact. 
  2. Analyzes needs of the client and recommends appropriate programs or referrals.
  3. Answering multi-line phone system and appropriately directing calls.
  4. Providing front line customer service both in person and over the phone.
  5. Analyzes needs of the client and provides appropriate program information and/or referrals. 
  6. Receiving paperwork from clients, effectively assessing its completion and routing it to the appropriate staff person.
  7. Assisting clients with completing and turning in application, recertification and other required paperwork.
  8. Date stamps and sorts agency mail as received.
  9. Completes receipting for funds received in the mail or at the front desk.
  10. Completes data entry for all BHA program pre-applications.
  11. Provides support to Housing Clerks in mailing application and recertification packets as needed. 
  12. Performs additional duties as assigned.
  13. May provide bilingual support.

 MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

  •        High School Diploma or G.E.D. 
  •        Two years in a social services environment with administrative support and/or rental management experience or a combination of education and experience.
