Maintenance Requests

Our friendly and dedicated maintenance staff takes pride in providing our residents with safe well-maintained housing in Bellingham and Whatcom County.  Our normal hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (excluding holidays).  If you require Maintenance to service your unit, please call our work order line at 360-676-6893.  Your work order will be quickly processed and assigned to the next available maintenance technician.

 

“QUICK DIAL” INSTRUCTION:  When calling for maintenance requests residents may bypass the recorded messages by selecting the following options:

 

Routine Maintenance Requests

Press 1, then 1

Emergency Maintenance Requests during business hours

Press 1, then 2

Emergency Maintenance Requests after business hours

Press 1, then 3

 

For Routine Maintenance Requests, you will be prompted to provide the following information:

·       Your name and phone number

·       Your address (including apartment #)

·       Permission to enter (Do maintenance workers have your permission to enter if you are away?)

·       State your maintenance request?

 

For Emergency Maintenance Requests during business hours your call will transferred to the desk of the Maintenance Program Assistant.  If you reach voice mail leave a message.  This line is checked regularly throughout the business day and a maintenance technician will be dispatched as soon as possible.

 

For Emergency Maintenance Requests after hours are transferred to a cell phone carried by the after-hours on-call maintenance technician.  If you reach a voice mail message, the maintenance technician is handling another call.  Leave a message explaining the nature of the emergency.  Be sure to include the service address and a good contact phone number.

 

Note:  For purposes of classifying work orders, Emergency Maintenance Requests are those that involve conditions that pose a significant risk to residents or facilities if not addressed immediately.  Examples of Emergency Work Orders include: broken water pipe spraying, broken window, entry door lock broken, faulty fire alarm, etc.  Non-emergency work orders called in on the emergency work order lines will be designated as Routine Maintenance Requests and will be assigned to the next available technician during regular business hours.

 

In the event of a non-maintenance emergency involving fire, medical, crime or public safety matter, call 9-1-1 for emergency services.
